Mission Navy Yard before the Nats game. We have been wanting to try this place for a while. There are always events going on so it is best to get there early. The bar was full 3hrs before the first pitch. Had the Queso. It is a creamy cheese dip. Not Rebe’s favorite but I like it fine. The chips are crispy and almost pita like. Red and green salsas were flavorful with a slight hint of heat. Good stuff. Ordered Tacos. Had the Chipotle Chicken first. Tacos come on a corn soft tortilla. The taco was average. The chicken was pulled and tender but not a huge amount of flavor. The local catch taco is their fish taco. The fish was breaded nicely and spicy. A little too much crema for my liking. Last taco I had was the buffalo shrimp. Good heat. Again too much crema but flavorful. The buffalo sauce was a little to sweet for my style. Conclusion, this place is a decent enough Mexican restaurant for a quick bite before the game. The food was not special enough for a fancy night out.

Putt Putt’s Bar – Grand Rapids
Dive bar with plenty of local flavor. Surprising excellent lunch sandwiches. Had the toasted Italian. Sandwiches are large with tender meat and good flavor. It is a large sandwich but very satisfying.
Semilla Kitchen & Bar – Puerto Rico
Tuna tartar was excellent. Tacos were solid. Meat quesadilla was solid. Beer was interesting from Ocean Lab Brewing Co. Grilled shrimp tacos were awesome. Fish tacos were good. All in all good vibe. Very good food. Lots of crema on everything and we don’t like crema. Still give it a thumbs up.
Whaley’s – Washington DC
Always solid fish. Tacos without shells. Risotto. The dessert though. WTF. Cinnamon marshmallow paired with salted carmel ice cream? Omg
Jersey Girl Drink and Dining – Wildwood NJ
Macho Tuna – average tuna on a crisp. Mayo based. Ok.
Watermelon and Feta Salad – Spectacular and fresh. Sharable
Angry Lobster Pasta – good vodka flavor, slight spice, plenty of well cooked lobster. Good good fish.
Anejo – NYC
Lunch at Anejo. Packed. Good vibe at 12:30 on a Sunday. Had red and green salsa and fresh guacamole. Had the shrimp tacos and roasted cauliflower tacos. Green salsa was spectacular. The red salsa was good with a decent amount of heat. Cauliflower tacos were spectacular as well. Had the Anejo margarita. Nice as well. All around this is a good find and an above average place for Mexican food in Hell’s Kitchen.
This is a Top Chef contestant restaurant.
Famous Toastery – Blowing Rock NC
Interesting friendly place for breakfast. Had the combo. French toast with eggs. They started with apple butter and corn bread. Excellent flavor. Clean. Good atmosphere.
International House of Tacos Pittsfield MA
Fresh salsa and chips.
Tacos are amazing and I am picky.
Slight sweetness to all the preparations but not over powering.
Yayla Bistro
Turkish Mediterranean
I had the doner kebab; Rebe had the halloumi cheese and the falafel.
Falafel was some of the best I’ve ever had.
The kebab was over rice. Super tender lamb and beef. Awesome and not overly filling.
Halloumi was pan fried. Lightly. Just firm enough. Not chewy at all. Had a marmalade with it. Good pairing.
Travel Day from Aruba
Had Dutch cheese and crackers at airport in Aruba. Very nice.
Ate Mexican at the FLL airport. Food was below average. Bartender was great.
